Apocalyptograms

Posted on May 31, 2007 at 02:08 PM

I have no idea what that means. I'm just excited because I'm off for a week's vacation in Mexico and I'm going to climb a Mayan pyramid. Possibly sacrifice a small child. Not sure, depends on what time the bus leaves.

Aside from taking off for parts Latin, we've got some uber cool things coming up on the Untitled. First and foremost, two, count'em TWO performance episodes. How nice are we?

Straylight Run will be dropping by to deliver us some golden tones of songwriting bliss as well as our Unsigned Band Search contest winners the Perfect Mistake, a long awaited performance. When'd you guys win the contest, like Decemeber? Finally! We get you on the show.

So, if you gots questions for them folks, send'em and if you got questions for me, comments about my video picks, Rock 101, why the show completely rules, rock'em our way.

Oh, and here's something super secret happening on Fuse, it's not on the Sauce, it's not on the Untitled, it's a brand new big name interview show happening with yours truly. Guess who the first guest is, go on, guess. Nope, close though, a guy by the name of Bruce Willis.

HOW EFFING COOL IS THAT?!!  DIE HARD WITH STEVEN!

I'm psyched, are you psyched?  You should be psyched.

I'll see you in a week!
Adios!

Esteban

Thought I'd Forgot

Posted on May 24, 2007 at 11:09 PM

WELL I DIDN'T!
Cuz that's how I roll.
It's Thursday and that means a myspace bulletin and untitled rock blog entry and this one is all about you.  That's right, you.  Seriously, you.  Sitting there, checking your myspace and/or the blog, you.

I want to thank you for submitting such awesome questions for our guests.  I have to say whenever we tell a band that our interviews end with fan questions, their faces light up.  It truly is all about you.

So, on behalf of every guest on the Untitled, thank you.  On a similar note, I want to thank our most recent intern Belgium (aka Sammy) for devoting so much time and dreadlocked effort this past months.  His visa ran out and we had to say goodbye and some of us actually heard him.  Via con Dios my Flemish friend!

Now, we have a new filthy intern working on the Untitled.  So it goes.  Apparently one of the new Fuse interns wears his collar flipped up. I may have to kill him.  If you subscribe to this fashion style, do me a favor, un-add yourself to our friend list.  Can't take that noise.  I really can't.

Fight the good fight, listen to good music, and never let trends get the better of you.

yours,
Steven

It's THORsday

Posted on May 17, 2007 at 01:28 PM

Little know fact, the days of the week come from Norse mythology and Thursday is named after the god of thunder himself, Thor.  His hammer was too short but it's reach was long.  Indeed.

What's shaking campers, your pal Steven here for your weekly dose of the Untitled Rock.  I hope you've been enjoying our Bamboozle coverage.  We've said some kickass episodes with My Chem, Linkin Park, and many more.  Did you dig them?  I knew that you would.

Now here's a question Untitled Rockers, what do you think about the playlists when we the show goes to a festival like Bamboozle?  In case you didn't notice at South by Southwest shows we peppered the show with videos and interviews from artists we don't normally feature like Lily Allen and Cold War Kids.  Which is how we like to roll on the Untitled.  We'd rather set the standard than lower it, knowhutI'msayin?

This garnered much discussion at the Untitled HQ when we did our Bamboozle shows.  One episode included interviews from Killswitch, Norma Jean, and Lordi, so this was our harder rock episode.  Now for my money, I would rather the show's not be genre specific, in other words treat it like a jukebox rather than a mixtape.  Got me?

Again, this brought about much discussion, so what do you, the people who watch think.  Is it okay to go from Weird Al to My Chem then Silversun Pickups or from Killswitch Engage to Plain White T's to Taking Back Sunday?

Let me know.
And stay rocking.

hugs,
Steven

Hola compadres of the Untitled!
I can't remember if I sent our normal Thursday bulletin last week.  Don't think I did.  Please call me out on it if I didn't.
Just in case, here's one extra for this week.

Now the reason I didn't post anything was because I had a long day with Jeph, Quinn, and new drummer Dan of the Used.  Senor Bert is on serious vocal rest due to nodes on his chords.  Which is awful and we wish him the best.  What were the rest of the band doing with yours truly?  You'll just have to watch and find out.  I can say it involves cookies and literal egg on my face.  Oh you'll have to wait and see.

Now I have to congratulate all of you for submitting questions for all the bands we talked to at the Bamboozle.  Kudos to anyone who asked any band OTHER than My Chem something.  And speaking of the My Chem show was amazing.  They performed Black Parade in its' entirety.  I teared up.   I really did.  LOVE THAY BAND!

Welp my legions, your tasks are never over.  We've got From Autumn to Ashes and Bleed the Dream coming on so send us your burning desires for these artists and we'll put them on the show.  I have one request however.

We love your catchy little internet name but what we really want is your first name and where you're from.  The bands love to know, we love to know, and we love to love you long time.

Make sense?
Thought so.

Hugs to each and every one of you from my own damn arms.

yours,
Steven

The Final Countdown

Posted on May 3, 2007 at 02:03 PM

Just one more day my peeps.  One.  More.  Day.  And then we do in fact, Bam the Boozle.  I am excited.  Indeed.  Way.  Excited.

And a big heartfelt thank you to all the fans who submitted questions for the bands.  This is so cool to have you involved and we at the Untitled wouldn't have it any other way.

So, lots been goin on with the ol' Untitled.  Have you noticed?  We've added a few things we think are the shizz.  They are as follows:

Fan Mail - Questions for Me from YOU
Steven's Picks - Bands I want to play because I do.  That's it.
Fan Questions for Bands - Your questions end every artist interview.
Rock 101 - Why the classic video we play is indeed, a classic.

We've gotten a huge response for each and want more.  What do you, the Untitled fans, think about our new segments? Let us know and we just might read your comments on the air.  Pretty cool, huh?  Pretty DAMN cool.

We love music and we love you.
Keep loving music and we will keep loving you.

your friend,
Steven
