Bam Bam

Rock-tastic.

Ahoy, tis Steven to gab on whole lots of nothin' for a few before I jam downstairs to change and get ready for the Sauce.  Which is another show on Fuse, in fact it precedes the greatest show on Fuse.  You can figure that one out.

Anyhoo, we are knee deep in Bambooze preparations, I am damn, damn psyched for all the artists we are speaking too.  My Chem and Linkin Park will be marvelous but there are plenty, plenty more, including New Found Glory, Silverstein, the Almost, Norma Jean, Killswitch Engage, Madina Lake, Relient K, and Lordi.  That's right, we bring all the damn rock.  Don't look for us to just play one sty-lee, we rock it all, and it's not genre specific.  You could say it's "un-titled."

speaking of tites:  Everything Hurts:  An Essential Guide to Emo Culture by scribes Leslie Simon and Trevor Kelley came out yesterday. It's a fine, fine, oftentimes high-larious look at the music and culture we love.  Do yourself a favor and go buy it.  I did and I already had a copy.  That's how good the book is.

Love all the question for My Chem and Linkin Park.  Keep'em coming. Just gave you a few more.  Once our whole list is finalized we'll turn the interviewing over to all of you.

cuz we love you.

Steven

I can't believe this

Posted on April 16, 2007 at 02:20 PM

I'm from Virginia.
I went to college and high school there.
This shooting in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech is truly a tragedy.
In every sense of the word.
The numbers are still coming in but at this moment it appears to be 32 dead, 21 wounded.
My heart goes out to the families and friends and all the students at Virginia Tech.  I can't wrap my head around it.
I can't wrap my head around most tragedies but this one hits close to home.
This is the worst shooting in US history.
I don't know what to say.
I wish I could undo things like this but I can't.
And now we're finding out Columbine was 8 years ago this week.
I don't understand this.  I really don't.

Greatest. Movie. Ever.

Posted on April 10, 2007 at 02:31 PM

Except for Jaws and the Empire Strikes Back.
The Aqua Teen movie is absolute genius.
If you're into that sort of thing.
And I am.
Totally.
When it comes out, go see it.
Or don't.
I don't work for them.
Whatevs.

hugs,
Steven

Big Fat Wads of Nuthin

Posted on April 9, 2007 at 01:27 PM

Seriously, I have nothing new to report.
The weekend was too cold for any fun fun silly willy.
I did however venture out to see Blades of Glory, which, though better than Talladega Nights, was no where near as funny as Anchorman

Also, if you're not listening to the new Smoke or Fire record there is something wrong with you.  I know you may not like the implication but the record is so damn good I feel the need to share with you my distaste for your lacking it in your collection.  It's called The Sinking Ship.  Don't be on one, go get this record.

Tomorrow I'm going to a screening of the new Aqua Teen movie.
Who wants to be me?

til then
Steven

BLORT

Posted on April 3, 2007 at 12:02 PM

Tonight I am going to see the Honorary Title.
If you are there, come and say hi.
But not during their set cuz I'll be listening.
As you should be.

For those of you wondering about the Sauce, it's not a video show.
It's a variety show for people who like music.  Got me?

Hi Dad!

hugs,
Steven

SAUCY

Posted on April 2, 2007 at 01:04 PM

Zup peoples.
Sharing is caring and I wanted to share with ya'lls what I did this weekend, well minus the bits about the bachelor party I went to.

I went and saw a one-man show called All the Wrong Reasons at the New York Theater Workshop written and performed by John Fugelsang.  He used to host America's Funniest Home Videos and did a stint on VH1 a whiles back.

The show is positively charming.  It really hit home with me and in many instances I felt as if I was listening to myself.  John glides around the stage between a couch and a microphone (sometimes a bit too glidey - almost ballet like - walking looks cool too)  telling stories of his former nun mother and former franciscan friar father.  It was mingled with strong humour and sarcasm (two languages I speak) and was a fine old time at the theater.  He made me laugh.  And think.  I don't laugh at anything and I think even less so well done John.  Check him out if you have a mind.  I think you'll dig it too.

Which brings me to tonight.  Tonight at 6PM Fuse premiere's the Sauce, our new live music variety show.  And I gots to tell you folks, it looks pretty damn cool.  Taking Back Sunday are joining us for the whole damn hour and we'll be introducing our new host Holly Hannula, straight outta Washington state.  Tomorrow Quentin damn Tarantino is coming on with Robert Rodriguez.  Check that shit out.  Watch tonight.  It's a good lead-in for the show that follows.  Cheeky.

hugs people
Steven
