Final post of the tour

We have finally reached the last leg of our tour, home stretch, our crusty home on wheels/ dilapidated van is been put through the ringer, the sideview mirror hangs on by duct tape, before the duct tape we would have to at least reach 50mph in order for wind velocity to carry and raise the mirror to a usable level, otherwise it sat flaccid, droopy, and broken hugging the passenger side door, each day it seems like a new light in the dashboard becomes illuminated, all the fun ones like 'service engine soon', and the airbag light, and the oil one, we've serviced this van for more then it wants to be serviced, filled it with so much love, love juices, oils, greases, lubes, lubricated ourselves even to make the van a little more comfortable against our bare skin, countless messages have been splattered across the windshield by mini mustard package bugs, fellow tour mates have etched perverse messages and phallic symbols with  their fingertips and road grime,  Usually after each tour I take our trailer to my parents house and store it on the driveway on display for the entire neighborhood,  the massive cartoon portrayals of female and male genitals across the trailers side and over the passenger windows didn't leave my parents too happy Shows have been great fans have been appreciative,  seattle and california was amazing, pomona was a personal fav, as well as san fran, all up and down the west coast, utah and colorado was insane in a good way, texas and down south of course treat us so well, we will be heading out later this summer for our own headlining run, and look forward to spending more time with all our fans and friends See ya soon.

Love Jarrod

They let people line up inside for your show?! I went there in January and we had to wait in the cold Michigan winter! Subzero temperatures! Not fair.

I love the Magic Stick though. :D And the bowling alley. I'm so bummed I had to miss this show.

(hee hee, j/k) Had a great time at the show-wish would've played longer!! Keep on Keeping On!! Will see you when you come back thru!

We have begun our tour with mae, started in Philly and has taken us through our hometown NYC, and we are currently freezing our asses off in Boston, but not really compared to Rhode Island last month(see first video blog) so far so good, vegan treats returned to visit us in Lancaster PA, once again beautifully decorated super sweet vegan deserts, awoke with sonic the following morning,  being from NY sonic has always fascinated me, pressing the big candy red button and hoping some super cute girl in a short skirt and roller skates will roll up with your deep fried fatty selection...a deep fried fatty in roller skates that might be more like it, but it actualy was just some random dude who walked out with my tray, no skirt, no roller skates no nothing, picked up lunch at a gas station in CT, it was one of those dunkin donuts within a 7/11 sort of set up, grab a sheet of wax paper, lift the little plastic door and out comes some over sweetened muffin that tastes closer to a cupcake then an actual muffin (but no vegan treat, that's for sure), stopped at a luxurious gas station/car wash today, it had a massive sign in the shape of a hand, it was funny imagning this hand tumbling over from high above and flattening our tour manager Casey, funny in a godzilla sort of a way not cause we don't love him Thanks to every one who has been coming out to see us, it makes me very happy, all of us very happy.

Thanks to our friends from Vegan treats:

We are about a week into our tour, the first two weeks being our headlining run, so far so good.  We actually got to choose who we wanted to tour with on this part and we chose The Teeth and The Dead Trees, two awesome bands.  These first couple of shows are in smaller towns, the ones off the beaten path, but all have been amazing: Albany, Rhode Island, Northampton, Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids, Cincinnati.

In Allentown, PA a fan and now new friend brought us a beautiful selection of vegan cakes from her bakery - vegan treats, super tasty desserts that had me scaling the ceiling from a sugar high, when I came down I slipped into a coma only to awake to the sensation of complete slow motion.  In Grand Rapids I ate a burrito the size of my arm, well one third of it, before I thought I was gonna projectile (it was good though).  Albany was a favorite, even though it was in the middle of a blizzard, this certainly didn't stop our eager drunken fans supporting us whole heartedly.

Finally got to see 'Juno' on our one night off, it hit home, glazed the eyes, just makes you wanna listen to the Moldy Peaches and impregnate the one you love, but seriously really liked it.  How many years on this planet before I realize that movie popcorn and the massive candy boxes are all toxic.  Sure the first couple of bites are enjoyable, but it's impossible to stop after those first few bites unless you're watching 'Saw,' but yeah cookie dough/butter/oil/chocolate/nacho cheeze ooze/sausage nut balllls regurgitation can put a damper on a fun night out at the movies.  Sausage nut balls are only available at select theatres, specialty ones.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to our shows so far, fans have been awesome and they make me smile a little bit.

We enjoyed the show in Grand Rapids ever so much. Where did you get the burrito from? El Sombrero? I personally enjoy the dry bubba myself.

Anyway! We do hope you come back soon & keep on getting all that amazing ass with Axe Body Spray. :D

WOW.
When I saw the post on Tuesday I thought this was going to be a funny video like the 'Frozen' one or something. But this is even better.
You guys should really make a recording of this and release it on a seperate album.

I have quick question for somone who has seen the honorary tiltle recently, Um, alot of my friends have been talking about how Aaron Kamasomethingorother isnt playing shows with them anymore. Is this true?
just curious.

Posted by: Fan. Mar 7, 2008 3:40:23 AM

Very good cover, I have been trying to figure that One out for a while but was never happy with it. I will see you guys in Virginia Beach, and again in DC. Maybe in Va Beach you can rock that one considering the Jewish Mother is a small venue compared to the black cat. I was hoping you would play the Norva with Mae considering they are from Norfolk.

See ya guys soon...Chad

I love that cover of Alicia Key's song...especially the end. I could feel the emotion. What I really loved was that you didn't try and sing it like her..you made the song fit to your style and voice. I hope you sing that cover at the show in Houston

To Do...

Preparations for the tour have begun. I usually write out a to-do list before every trip I take, and the one before this tour is pretty massive. Fun and exciting things like removing the stench of mysterious rotting wonders from the THT mobile (cleaning the van). I experience extreme pleasure from this, it's kinda like the satisfaction of cleaning one's room or apt. We do pretty much live in that van while touring. I remember last year before we left pulling out of the car cleaning place with the shiny clean van, I was so wrapped up in joy from the cleansing experience that I cut some guy off accidentally, and he then proceeded to chuck his milkshake at the side of the van, splattering and coating it in a disgusting thick foamy film, I wanted to cry and laugh all at once. Figuring out beyond the evil smell why the van sounds like it's on its last leg and spending millions on repairs is definitely my second fav.

Oh and then there is the amazing trip to the DMV, waiting in line for thirty seven hours, only to realize I've forgotten fifteen different proofs of citizenship, 12 numbers located in various stickers and insurance forms, and then that moment after it all when you realize you don't have a pen and you gotta get all grubby and ask some strange person if you can borrow theirs.  What makes it even more fun is that it's winter time, so after layering in multi sock/thermal/sweatshirt/hat/gloves you get into the DMV and start sweating profusely, especially while asking the stranger if you could borrow a pen. My face usually turns beat red and by the time I've left the place I've completely detoxed and lost 10 pounds. (I think I complain way too much).

So after all the instrument / amp / van / trailer repairs are done we actually play music and that's when it starts to get fun again. Looking forward to doing a few headlining shows on this tour, it's been too long and we are bringing 2 really cool bands with us (The Teeth, The Dead Trees) and for those who are waiting for us to headline everywhere else we will definitely be doing that this summer. Until then check us out on tour with Mae.

See you soon, hopefully.

The DMV's in southern california never have the 'its way too hot in here' problem, but almost the exact opposite year round (probably because the wheather here is about the same year round anyways). But I suppose its better than the east coast.
I hope you guys keep up with this whole blogging thing because its pretty cool.
