Damageplan Guitarist Killed

By now you've probably heard the tragic news that Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and three others were shot and killed by a gunman last night while performing onstage at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio. The gunman, 25 year-old Nathan Gale of Marysville, Ohio, was killed by a cop that had rushed in from a back entrance. Currently, police are searching for a motive. An eyewitness opined that the cause may have been a personal grudge.

Damageplan was formed by former Pantera members Abbott and his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott. Damageplan's debut album, New Found Power, was released in February.
