Tune in to Fuse on Wednesday at 10p ET for the '20 Hottest Hip Hop Videos' and see which video is our number one!!
LISTEN ALL OF Y'ALL IT'S A SABOTAAAGGGGEEEE...
Before his critically acclaimed Where the Wild Things Are adaptation, Spike Jonze was known for directing music videos for artists like Fatboy Slim ("Praise You"), Weezer ("Undone (The Sweater Song)") and the Pharcyde ("Drop"). Arguably the best of his music video work is the Beastie Boys and his video for Ill Communication's stand-out track, "Sabotage." At once both a parody and celebration of 1970's police dramas, "Sabotage" is MCA, Mike D, and Ad Rock rocking fake mustaches and aviator shades as they chase crooks, do donuts in their cop hooptie, and knock doors down.
This year the Beastie Boys released digitally remastered deluxe editions of their albums Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication and Hello Nasty (check our Beasties contest and win copies of these, along with a genuine Gibson guitar). They've have had a long history of hits and great videos, though "Sabotage" stands above the rest, and that speaks volumes when the rest include "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)" and "Intergalactic."
Could "Sabotage" be #1? Tune in to Fuse on Wednesday at 10p ET to find out!

Music fans, take note: If you don't find something here from Austin City Limits '09 that rocks you, you might not have ears. (Have you checked the sides of your head recently?) In the video above, bands such as Kings of Leon, Phoenix, Girl Talk, and the Dead Weather talk about what makes ACL so special. A rock star's guide to Austin, more videos AND free downloads after the jump!

Awkward collaborations - love 'em or hate 'em, you can't do anything about 'em. But there are always a few classic pairings you never grow tired of.
We present you with the best, worst, and most painful to watch collaborations of all time...

The CMJ Music Marathon is letting 1,150 bands wreak unholy havoc on New York City over the course of five caffeine-addled days, starting October 20. For the last 29 years, the Marathon (which, to be quite frank, includes little actual running) has been one of the premier outlets for an emerging band to be heard. Accordingly, its also the source of a lot of annoying "I saw them first" claims from our jerkiest of friends. So who should you check out this year? Well, here's six newish bands that are already making a splash-but it may be a damn tidal wave by the end of this week!

Raucous rock stars the Kings of Convenience are not. Instead of acting in crazy antics on stage, the Norwegian duo (Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe) are understated and subtle. The duo's frontman is the bespectacled, charmingly nerdy Øye (think a Scandinavian Napoleon Dynamite), while Bøe is handsome and quiet. [Q&A, pix, and new album info after the jump]

Wearing striped, sequenced knickers, feathers and a tulle tail, Juliette Lewis looks a rock 'n' roll birdie from outer space. All the leaping about, screaming and red-purple makeup just adds to the effect. But that's the reason why we love her. Few creative minds can say they've played rolls that have ranged from little girl to half-retarded psycho killer, but beyond an acting talent that has garnered her both an Oscar and Emmy nomination, the girl can rock a stage, too. The Talking Metal episode with Ozzy Osbourne and Slayer guitarist Kerry King was the second episode we did for Fuse, and it originally aired in early 2008. It took us all over the country: from the Fuse studio in midtown Manhattan, to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut -- where we interviewed Ozzy (who was suffering from a bad cold) before returning to his Black Rain tour -- to various locations in Orange County California where we hung with Mr. King.

Today in The Daily Noise, Aerosmith's Joe Perry stops by to talk about his upcoming solo project, new Aerosmith music, and the recent struggles faced by the band. It's always cool to see legendary artists speak frankly about serious matters, and Joe Perry does just that. Seriously, a very classy gentleman. Video after the jump.

Tonight at midnight the Best of SURS premieres with our 2005 episode featuring none other than Green Day. For those of you who started watching way back in '04, you'll remember this as the episode where we announce the name of the show. There was a contest and well, you know what won. The cool thing about this show is not my hair nor the fact I'm wearing eyeliner, but that Green Day asked to come on and announce the name. Pretty damn cool, huh?
I know it's only once a week but who knows what the future will bring folks. Tune in tonight, set your DVRs, your VCRs, your TIVOS, just WATCH!
The Best of SURS at midnight every Friday
hugs,
Steven
P.S. You are the best fans in the world.

It's those we love the most whom we judge the hardest. That said, it was hard to know what to make of Karin Dreijer-Andersson (AKA Fever Ray)'s live performance in New York City. The sister half of Sweden's electronic duo the Knife isn't known for being just another average Swede on the block. Everything she does is puzzling at best, but it's always weird in the most authentic and honest of ways. America's waited since last winter to see her perform her much-hyped and amazing self-titled album, but the disconnected antics on stage last Monday night hurt the mysterious beauty for which she's known (photos after the jump).

Broken shoulder? Internal bleeding? These petty things mean nothing to Alexi Laiho! In June of this year fret wizard Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom fought his way through a set at Roseland in NYC after being thrown from his bunk on the tour bus. Though their tour ended up being called off, that hasn’t stopped the Hatecrew from Deathroll-ing on to contribute/give their likenesses to Guitar Hero 5 AND record a new LP!
