Carillons: they aren't just for playing Christmas carols, or the Westminster chimes anymore. Last week, the sounds of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" rang out from the bell tower at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, performed on the carillon by Iowa State carillonneur and associate professor of music and theatre Tin-Shi Tam. The performance was the result of a request drive started on Facebook. [via Buzzfeed]
The magic moment went down at noon last Friday, August 27, 2010. Lady Gaga's world domination marches forth. And yes, rumor is Madonna is dying to take Gaga on tour.

That toilet that once belonged to John Lennon and that was up for auction last week? It went for more than expected. Like, ten times more than expected.
The winning bidder ended up paying £9,500, or about $14,700 for the privilege, or thrill, or something, of owning the piece of porcelain that a Beatle once rest his weary bum on. The commode was expected to only raise about £1,000.
As for the more musically intriguing items on the list, specifically the rare mono vinyl edition of Lennon and Yoko Ono's Two Virgins album, and a harmonica that once belonged to Lennon's son Julian, those items each went for £2,500 ($3,900) each.

Guns n' Roses certainly make it interesting.
Given the band's history of late starts, canceled shows, and blustery accusations, and ESPECIALLY given the band's controversial, two hour-late start at the same event eight years ago, perhaps it isn't a surprise that things nearly got out of hand this weekend. But there they were: Guns n' Roses, onstage at Reading, trying to play a "Paradise City" encore with no sound, as festival organizers had pulled the plug minutes before. No, Axl wasn't pleased. Video after the jump.

Love the series. I'm a producer and Hip Hop fanatic working independently in Miami, and would love to land a gig such as yours one day. Keep up the quality, and continue to represent the culture at its best. www.vimeo.com/douglasforte
