New Nine Inch Nails Music Coming In 2010

There's a lot going on in the world of Nine Inch Nails. Let's catch up.

First, and most tantalizingly, Reznor has announced that new Nine Inch Nails music will be released in 2010. Also intriguing? Fans can expect new music from 'something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails.'

Presumably, that would be a collaboration with New Wave pioneer Gary Numan, who appeared at NIN's LA final live performances to perform his classic "Cars." Numan himself revealed some details of the hookup back in September

As for all of the news, let's let Trent do the talking (from the NIN site):

"Happy holidays everyone and thank you for an exceptional year! Sorry I haven't been around much lately, I've been working on not working for a couple of months, which for me is hard work. 2010 has a number of things planned including new material from nine inch nails and something else that isn't nine inch nails. I am in a state of rediscovery and reinvention that feels unfamiliar, unsure and exactly what I need.

In the meantime, here are some miscellaneous performances from 2009.

See you and speak to you soon-

Trent"

The 'miscellaneous performances' that Trent speaks of are from Another Version Of The Truth: The Gift, a free live video group-edited by fans from HD video shot during three 2008 shows. Many formats available at This One Is On Us. Trailer below.

Other good news? Trent is back on Twitter. Not terribly actively, but something is better than nothing.

Trent Reznor: he may have retired from touring, but he certainly didn't retire from music-making. Happy 2010!
