They came out one by one, adding accordion, electric violin, bass, percussion, and finally acoustic guitar. Oh and one frenzied crowd.

Must be nice to be Mute Math: perfect weather, a great new album (Armistice), and a hometown slot on the main stage at Voodoo.

The husband and wife pop dream team Mates Of State were like a refreshing cool breeze on a day with, well, more than a few nice breezes. Translation: Jason Hammel and Kori Gardners's sprightly, smart tunes were perfect for a sunny New Orleans afternoon.

The TBC Brass Band are New Orleans residents keen on bridging the past and future of New Orleans jazz and brass band music. They performed in the Preservation Hall tent on Friday.
