KISS bassist Gene Simmons drew ire from Muslims in Australia this month with his comments on a Melbourne radio station.
Simmons fired back on Friday, saying he was speaking only of "extremists" and not Muslims in general, many of whom labeled Simmons' comments as anti-Muslim and attacking Islam.
So what did Simmons say?
"This is a vile culture and if you think for a second that it's willing to just live in the sands of God's armpit, you've got another thing coming. They want to come live where you live and they think that you're evil."
He also slammed Islamic culture as sexist..."You can send your dog to school to learn new tricks, sit, beg, do all of that stuff - none of the women have that advantage."
Hey Gene, don't hold back.

Celine returns from injury...Elderly people traveling to Vegas rejoice!
Mormons love Donny...This is where I have to admit that the first concert I ever went to when I was a little kid was the Osmond Brothers in Atlanta Stadium. Yes, the Osmonds were once a stadium touring band and yes, I am that old.
Marc Anthony files for divorce...guess the lure of J-Lo's a** was just too strong.

Who is Napoleon Dynamite and why should you care?
He's the hero/anti-hero of a new movie, appropriately titled Napoleon Dynamite hitting theaters June 11. Yes, thats the star of the show, the red-haired guy with the sweet 'fro and big, chunky glasses.
The film, which premiered at Sundance to great reviews, looks like the latest film to follow a normal nerd in his quest to go from geek to chic.
The trailer features some funny moments, such as Napoleon discussing how women want guys with skills, "you know, numbchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills," a sweet bike-jump stunt (ha) and Napoleon drawing his favorite animal, the ligre (a mix between a lion and tiger, of course.)
Geeks rejoice, your new anti-hero is almost here!

The latest album from Green Day, "American Idiot," (due in Sept.) features the punk band known for two-minute songs busting out a nine-minute, mini rock-opera. A concept punk album? Funny.
Characterized as their "most ambitious album to date," the band would even be open to taking their latest opus to Broadway.
Singer Billie Joe Armstrong wouldn't comment on reports that the band is currently planning a tour with Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Yes.

If you've been living under a rock, then you are probably one of the few that doesn't know that Fantasia Barrino, the girl from North Carolina who sounds like a mix of Mary J. Blige and Aretha Franklin, won American Idol last night.
And yes, I did watch American Idol. What self-respecting pop-culture junkie wouldn't? You can't get any poppier than this schmaltz-fest.
So 65 million votes were cast last night. It'll be interesting to see who gets more votes...Fantasia and Diana or George W. and Kerry.

Well now, according to the nice people at FUSE, I rock. I always suspected it, but was never totally sure. You see when a girl's best friend is a male, its quite common for her to (attempt to) convince the best friend to worship the ground she's walked on. But alas I failed to make him worship me-not for a lack of trying mind you. *wide grin*
Anywayz, I've been given the go-ahead to do some more posts for FUSE, and to say the least, I'm tickled pink. *blinks* I always know I'm overly hyper-active-spastic when I start using clichés. Heh.
So with my new found freedom to blog, I find myself at interesting crossroads...Do they really like me? Or do they just not want to blog themselves? [Both, of course!] Either way, who cares! *Laughs*. So once again I'll stop babbling and get to the good stuff! Links and games!
First I would like to introduce all the anime-fanatics and non-anime-fanatics to a place called Gaia. Its a nice, peaceful-ish forum where anyone can talk about almost anything. As is the norm, I can be found under the name of Mookie Riffic. Also, I would like you all to meet the worm game-if you haven't played it yet, you're a very, very deprived child...and I pity you.
Now for those of us that have trouble with our ABC's (which I assume none do if their reading this) I have found a very instructional and helpful flash animation for you. As a disclaimer, this is NOT work safe, or young-kid safe. You have been warned. If your easily offended don't go to the flash, and you might not want to go to my personal blog that much. Heh. [15-years old and she's already learned reverse psychology]
So far I've given you a game, a flash, and a forum... what more is needed? Oh yes. An inspirational quote from one of my favorite authors and comedians...You know him, you love him- you remember him from the kid show Shinning Time Station- that's right! Its GEORGE CARLIN! (quote taken from his book Napalm and Silly Putty)
I can never decide if "what's-his-name" should be capitalized
And that my friends, wraps up this post. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did when writing it.
Adieu -Mookie

Phish has decided that the best way to celebrate the release of their new album, Undermind, was to break up.
That's right, patchouli-wearing, kind falafel-eating granolas across the country today are mourning the loss of the noodlers from Vermont. Don't fear too much Phishheads, you'll have the summer to criss-cross the country to see your favorite band, so enjoy the parking lot scene while you can.

The Material Girl was forced to cancel a show last night in L.A. due to a stomach flu, so all the celebrities clamoring to get backstage for free to see her will have to wait another night (as will the fans who paid handsomely for tix).
The latest cancellation comes on the heels of news earlier in the week that Madonna was canceling shows in Israel due to violence in the region.

Tired of reading me rant and rave? If so, do what this viewer did and send in your post! Just click the Blog for FUSE link on the left to find out how!
Well now, Seeing as this is my first post on this blog I decided to try and make it a decent one. Ah what am I thinking, me write something good? Nah. But alas I shall try anyway.
So I'm supposed to answer 6 questions. Now I could be boring and just answer them in a 1. blah blah blah; 2. blah blah blah etc. But I decided to be difficult instead. So to introduce myself let me start by telling you all that the name is Mookie, Mookie Riffic to be exact, and I'm a 15-year-old female. The doctor recently gave me the news that I'm human, but my parents still have their doubts...I'm from Northern Virginia, and just to make it clear, Northern VA is not, and I repeat not D.C. Well actually it is...Dale City, that is. So if you're keeping track, I have now answered the first 3 questions. I feel accomplished. Maybe I should call it a day. Nah. I'll keep going.
Onward to question 4! Number four asks "what you're listening to...could be the last 5 cds you bought, downloaded, etc." Well, since downloading illegally is mucho badness, and I'm too poor to actually pay, I wont say what I downloaded. Not that I did download anything! Well since I'm also too cheap to buy CDs often, the last 5 I bought were about 3 months ago. So I'll just tell you my favorite bands. I like Linkin Park (duh-who doesn't?), Eve 6, Sugarcult, Switchfoot...and my favorite band of all time is...ready for this one? BNL. That's right, I like that Canadian band- The Barenaked Ladies (I got all their CDs *giggles*). Now number 5 says I should include my post...Well I just answered all the questions in the post! So I guess I should include a few extra things...
Oh wait! I almost forgot the really, and I mean really important question...What's my favorite show on FUSE? I just like the regular Powerfuse where there isn't really any real show, just music videos...either that or Loaded.
So now we're to the interesting part of my post...the fun stuff that you actually want! Games! Now isn't that why we all get on line? For chat, blogs, and games! (I go more for the blogs myself but hey, whatever floats your boat). So for your entertainment I have hunted out the following games. In the sprit of Easter, I bring you the Peep Game! And I also shall provide you with the lovely Ant City.... You get to blow up people! Talk about real joy. Now one last thing before I go and take care of my other blogs (here, and here-man I'm such a hit whore!) I will provide you with a cutesy flash animation. Its called Amburgers and Woot Beer.
So there you go. You now know more about me then you probably wanted to know and I've provided you with hours of fun (or so I like to think).

Rapper, movie star and porn director Snoop Dogg is getting a divorce.
Say it ain't so Snoop...if you can't hold a relationship together, who can?
No word on if hanging out with pimps and 'hos, smoking kilos of weed and adding "izzle" to the end of every word had anything to do with the breakup.

Ian Watkins of the English band, lostprophets, doesn't see a whole ton of difference between playing shows in the U.S. and other parts of the world.
"There's no real difference," he says. "The shows in the U.S. are the same in Europe, the U.K. and Australia. We're not a big MTV band, so the people that are into us are real music lovers.
We here at FUSE knew there was a reason we liked these guys.

Kudos to the Cannes Film Festival jury (headed this year by Quentin Tarantino) for awarding their top prize to Michael Moore's latest doc, Farenheit 9/11. Yes, the prize was primarily political, but the jury showed moxie by awarding Moore with the honors.
Moore's controversial documentary about the Bush Administration and the war on terror was dumped by U.S. distributor Disney, who couldn't handle the conservative heat surrounding it, and is currently being shopped around.
Which is exactly why the Cannes prize for the film is significant. Whatever you feel about the politics of the movie, you must admit that people in America should have the chance to see it for themselves and form an opinion that is independent of Michael Eisner's and the people in the administration that feel like Bush should be beyond reproach.

Now THIS is counterprogramming. According to a report in yesterday's NY Daily News gossip column (scroll down for piece), the one and only Bruce Springsteen is quietly looking into a free show on the evening of September 2 IE the evening that George W. Bush addresses the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.
Springsteen has played the Garden countless more times than POTUS, including ten sold out nights in 2000 - why not let the Boss headline that night? Just a thought.

Like Incubus? Like A Perfect Circle? Well, those guys LOVE Rush. And so do lots of other people, including those who bring you the fuseblog. Since 1973, Toronto's Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart have been delivering muscular rock that has (chronologically) ventured into prog. territory, been tops on rock radio charts, included heavy synth work and has finally returned to guitar-based rock that, despite the age of the group, can only be described as alternative.
So what's the news? For the first time ever, Rush is releasing a cover song - yes, a song by another artist! Actually, a whole album of them. Titled Feedback, the unprecedented (for Rush) album is out June 29th on Atlantic. Also, buy everything else by them.

The launch party to celebrate the release of Lost In the Bermuda Triangle, the new DVD from A Perfect Circle, may not have given away much as far as video footage, but it sounds like the band came dressed to the hilt anyway.
Josh Freese, Billy Howerdel and James Iha showed up dressed in furry bear costumes with masks to cover their heads. Jeordie White went with the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ensemble, while Maynard James Keenan showed up in a separate limo dressed to the nines in shiny, green suit and tons of jewelry that seemed to pay homage to Morris Day.
The band is readying itself for a well-deserved break following the end of their current tour.

Did you really think we were above it?
Yesterday while checking out the statistics for traffic to this blog, I noticed a huge spike in traffic on a day where I happened to mention teen queen Lindsay Lohan in a post about the Olsen Twins. Seems that a lot of people searching for her on Google and Yahoo had made their way here on the strength of that tiny mention.
So in the interest of getting more people here, I've decided that we should do a gratuitous Lindsay Lohan post once a week to get all those people searching for her over here.
Here's gratuitous Lindsay Lohan post #1: Lindsay Lohan, Lindsay Lohan, Lindsay Lohan, Lindsay Lohan.
All you people Googling Lindsay...not sure if we have exactly what you were looking for (what would that be anyway?), but there's plenty more here, so check it out.
If not, we'll see you next week for gratuitous Lindsay Lohan post #2. Thanks for coming.

Marianela, hosts of FUSE's daily IMX show (weekdays at 6PM ET), has a new personal site up, so check it out (and not just because of pics like the one here). She has a ton of stuff for fans including wallpapers, buddy icons, banners, photo galleries, message boards, interviews by fans, for fans and more, more more!
Marianela facts from her bio: Her parents used to be professional tango dancers, just because she's hot doesn't mean she ain't smart (top of academic class in both high school and college), and my personal favorite - she loves sports and ESPN.

Check out the pic of Scarlet Johansson at the Academy Awards...probably taken just a little while before she was having sex with Benicio Del Toro in an elevator at the Chateau Marmont!
Yes, that's right, the 19-year-old star of Lost In Translation recently talked about her Oscar-night romp with the 37-year-old Del Toro. Seems the pair was hanging out at a post-Oscar bash when she grabbed his hand to lead him up to her room. Sounds like they made it as far as the elevator.
Her best quote about the incident has to be her take on the old, wooden, 80-year-old, creaky elevators of the Chateau Marmont, "I hate having to use them - let alone have sex in one."
So she didn't win the statuette, but at least she was treated to another stiff man that night.

News on concert tours you'd probably want to avoid anyway:
Jessica Simpson plans Summer tour...It's called the "Jessica Simpson Reality Tour." Maybe if we're lucky, Nick will join her in the encore for a heartfelt duet...yay!
Gloria Estefan to hit the road...Can you feel the rhythm of the suck?
Celine Dion forced to cancel shows...First no Siegfried and Roy and now no Celine...Vegas is really going downhill.

If it's May, it must be time for E3, the biggest event of the year for the videogaming industry. If you haven't heard, videogames are a bigger industry than movies and music combined, so it's a pretty big deal. The announcements and product launches will be hot and heavy over the next few days, but here are a few early highlights:
![]()
PSP revealed! Sony's portable game/music/movies machine finally gets unveiled. Did anyone think Sony was just sitting on their hands watching Nintendo sell oodles of Gameboys over the past few years? Well this thing isn't just for games (although it's about as powerful as a PS2), but will also store and play digital music and also support the playback of full-length movies on Sony's new UMD media disc format. It's even Wi-Fi enabled so you'll be able to share and play with people around you.
Nintendo DS revealed Nintendo answers Sony's entry into the market with the DS, a dual-screen machine (one of them is a touch screen similar to a Palm) that the details are still sketchy on. Look for Nintendo to fill in the blanks over the next few days.
IGN and Gamespot are full of details on the PSP, DS and everything else E3-related.

Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails are planning a big public return this year with a new album release and an extensive tour to support it.
"Bleed Through" is the name of the first NIN release since 1999's "The Fragile." Early reports indicate Reznor experimenting once again, this time with monophonic voices and drumming with "a new level of violence."

In Noel Gallagher's ever-ending quest to become the Beatles, word comes today that Oasis have recruited Ringo Starr's son, Zac Starkey, to bang their drums at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
Gallagher said Starkey would not become a permanent member of the band. Instead, the band simply plans to use the Glastonbury gig and Starkey's participation as a cheap publicity stunt designed to prop up the career of an increasingly irrelevant band who is now in need of publicity stunts.

Those holding out hope for the survival of western civilization will be buoyed by the fact that the Olsen Twins movie completely bombed over the weekend.
The "movie" finished in fourth place with a paltry $6.2 million.
Uh, girls, either stick to video or wait until you're 18 to come out with your "shockingly against type" breakout role where you play 1) a mentally or physically disabled person (i.e. the "Rain Man" effect), or 2) salaciously sexy vixen who takes her clothes off repeatedly.
